Polop is located in the northwest of the province of Alicante, in the municipality of La Marina Baixa, 10 km from the coast. It has a border with Altea and La Nucia. In the center of the city there is a magnificent fountain with 221 streams, which since ancient times and until the beginning of the 20th century supplied drinking water to the entire coast.
